VISIT-BJ ("we," "our," or "us") operates the VISIT-BJ mobile application and website — a marketplace for buying, selling, booking and renting assets including real estate, vehicles, and livestock, primarily serving users in Burundi.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use the VISIT-BJ app or website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to you.

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to operate the Service, maintain user accounts, support marketplace transactions, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet legal or compliance obligations.

• Account and profile information is retained while your account remains active.
• Listing content may remain available while the listing is active, pending, or needed for marketplace records.
• Transaction, payment, delivery, support, and safety records may be retained where needed for accounting, legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
• Analytics and technical logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed to improve security, performance, and reliability.

6. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time. When a deletion request is approved, we delete or anonymize personal information associated with your account within 30 days, except for information we must keep for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, or dispute-resolution reasons.

• You can submit a deletion request from the app using the Delete Account page.
• Deleting your account may remove your profile, saved account details, and active access to seller or buyer features.
• Public marketplace content, completed transaction records, and safety records may be retained or anonymized when required to protect users and comply with obligations.
• After deletion is completed, some backup copies may remain for a limited period before they are securely overwritten.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

You can also delete your account directly from the app under Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account.

VISIT-BJ is not intended for children under the age of 15. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., WhatsApp for seller contact). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

11. Permissions Used by the App

The VISIT-BJ mobile app may request the following device permissions:

• Camera / Photo Library: To capture or upload images and videos for your listings.
• Internet Access: Required for all core app functionality.

We do not access device contacts, location in the background, microphone, or any other sensitive permission without explicit need and disclosure.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
